The Library needs your help!

Funding cutbacks, proposed by the Mayor of Plainfield and endorsed by the Plainfield City Council, are forcing the Plainfield Public Library to take dramatic action in order to keep the doors open to the public. The Library, which traditionally receives only 2% of the entire City budget, has suffered a reduction of $300,000 in the current 2009-2010 budget. We need your help in order to continue to offer as many programs, services, and materials as possible. To make a donation or for more information about donating to the Library please contact the Administration office at 908-757-2305.

Book Donations

The Library welcomes donations of books for circulation and book sales; for book donations, contact the Assistant Director at 908-757-1111 ext. 132.

Donations to the Local History Department

The Local History department is dedicated to preserving the history of Plainfield, New Jersey, and its residents. Many collections in Local History -- especially the photograph and postcard collections -- have been enhanced by donations from Plainfield residents and their descendants all over the country.

If you are interested in making a donation, please contact the Head of the Local History department, Sarah Hull, at
908-757-1111, ext. 136.
