African-American Book Collection Donated to the Library!

An important reference collection of nearly 1,900 books has been donated to the Plainfield Public Library's Diversity Collection by Barbara Polk Riley, a retired college librarian.

The collection was started by her father Dr. Charles C. Polk in the 1920's.  Polk Riley met many of the authors as she took on the task of continuing the collection.

As soon as the books have been cataloged, they will be available for on-site research.
