About Local History & Special Collections
The Local History staff is happy to help with local history, genealogy and any questions about our collections. We can be reached at 908-757-1111 ext. 136. It is best to call ahead to ensure we can help in the best way possible and to confirm if there are any unexpected closings.
Fall/Winter Hours of Operation
Monday 9:30 am – 8:30 pm
Tuesday 9:30 am – 9:00 pm
Wednesday – Thursday 9:30 am – 5:30 pm
Friday 9:30 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Research
We are pleased to assist, without charge, researchers who come to the library to access our Local History collections, but appointments must be made ahead with the Local History staff.
However, due to our limited staff, requests received by mail, electronically and by phone attract a nominal fee. We are happy to receive these requests using the attached form Research Policy and Fee form.
Copying
For items copied in house at Local History the following fees apply:
Blueprints - $5 per page (the first page must be included)
Computer print outs - 25 cents per page
Black and White copies - 25 cents per page
