Teen Room We are excited about our upcoming Teen Room. The room will be a space for our teen patrons to hang out, do homework, study, and more. All we need now to make this possible is support from the community. The library is looking for additional funds to ensure we can create a meaningful and welcoming environment for the teens of Plainfield. Are my donations to the Plainfield Public Library tax deductible? Yes! Donations to the Plainfield Public Library are tax deductible. While the Plainfield Public Library is not a 501(c) (3), per the IRS, as a governmental entity/subdivision/instrumentality, donations are still tax deductible https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p526.pdf. The Plainfield Public Library will be glad to provide a letter on official letterhead thanking you for your donation and listing the amount of the donation, which can be utilized by your tax preparer in the exact same manner as they would handle a donation to a 501 (c) (3).
