Part-Time Computer Lab Assistant
The Plainfield Public Library is looking for two 15 hour/week part-time Computer Lab Assistants with excellent technological and customer service skills to help patrons use the Department of Labor and Workforce Developments new Career Connections job search portal.
While Career Connections training will be provided, intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010, Internet Explorer, and Firefox are required and are a critical component of the position. The employee will be expected to be able to troubleshoot basic technical issues as they arise. The employee will also be responsible for facilitating meetings, keeping records of lab usage, and producing monthly activity reports as well as coordinating with Career Connections programming partners. The selected candidate must have flexible availability including evening, daytime, and Saturday hours. The starting rate is $14.00/hour. This grant funded position will run through June 2017, with the possibility for extension.
Familiarity with the Comprise SAM software and Faronics Insight, library experience, job coaching experience, Microsoft Office Training certification, and being bilingual (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required. Possession of a Bachelors Degree or enrollment in a higher education program is required.
